UDSM Give 48 Students To Leave Campus
The University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM) in Tanzania wants all students to make sure by Friday, March 20, 2020 that they have left home.
The UDSM issued a statement today on Wednesday, March 18,2020, just a few hours since the Prime Minister of Tanzania, Kassim MajALI announced the closure of all colleges due to the corona virus (CODIV-19).
The Dialogue has issued after two more foreign patients were diagnosed with corona virus in Dar es Salaam and Zanzibar thus bringing the population to three.
In a statement from the UDSM Vice-Chancellor, Professor William Anangisye said that in implementing the Government’s directives and advice with the aim of controlling the spread of the disease, all academic activities at the campus were suspended from March 20 2020 until otherwise announced.
“Due to the moratorium, all students, of all programs, on vacation should remain at home where they are, until they are notified to return to college,” said Professor Anangisye
The university’s vice-chancellor said, “All students of all programs, who for various reasons are still on any college campus are required to leave the campus by Friday, March 20, 2020, to go home until they are notified that the campus has been reopened.”
He said all other activities of the College would continue as usual with respect to the guidelines regarding the control of the spread of corona disease.
