Texas Board of Nursing License Verification. The Texas Board of Nursing (TBON) offers a variety of ways for your license to verify. There are many online verification options available and more are being added all the time. Digital photo ID is the easiest option for most individuals. The other options are more detailed and require more personal information.

If you are an individual who has lost your license or your credential(s), you may request a copy of your license by completing a request form. You must also reach out to your local licensing office within 30 days of the last time you were issued a license. Licensing offices are not able to provide license verification services.

To verify your license, you may do one of the following:

How to Verify a License

The first option is to log onto the license verification site. If you are an individual who has lost your license or your credential(s), you may request a copy of your license by completing a request form. The request form should include the following:

  • Name
  • Address
  • Contact phone
  • Current license(s)
  • Printed out license number(s)
  • Other identifying information (birth date, Driver’s License number, etc.)
  • A list of any medications, vitamins, or supplements you are currently taking
  • A complete list of all your current licensed occupations
  • Your current license expiration date

How to Verify a Credential

The second option is to visit your local licensing office and present your current credentials. If you are an individual who has lost your license or your credential(s), you must bring your current license or credential along with you to the licensing office. If your current license is not in English, it must be translated into English. If your current license is not in English, you must take it to the office and have it translated. If your current credential is not in English, it must be translated. If you are licensed in another state, you must bring your license(s) or credentials with you to the licensing office.

How to Verify an Account

The third option is to set up an online account with your local licensing agency. Once you have an account with the licensing agency, you can easily add any item you are currently licensed to possess and use the “check inventory” feature to verify your current inventory.
