A Conference of Plenipotentiaries on the Establishment of the Lake Victoria Fisheries Organization, which was held in Kisumu, Kenya, on 30 June 1994, adopted the Convention for the Establishment of the Lake Victoria Fisheries Organization (LVFO). The Convention was registered with the Secretariat of the United Nations on 30 July 1996 under registration number 32987.
At its 9th Session held in Nairobi, Kenya, on 29 January 2016, the Council of Ministers of the LVFO adopted amendments to the Convention with a view to, inter alia, opening membership to all Partner States of the East African Community, and extending the competence of the LVFO to the fisheries and aquaculture resources of the East African Community water bodies. The amendments entered into force thirty days after their adoption, that is, on 28 February 2016 and the Republic of Burundi officially acceded to the convention on 4th October 2017.

JOB TITLE: PRINCIPAL AQUACULTURE MANAGEMENT AND DEVELOPMENT OFFICER (TRUEFISH PROJECT)
QUALIFICATION:
- Master’s Degree in aquaculture or any relevant field, PhD in the same field is an added advantage, Knowledge of economics and Post-Harvest Losses will be added advantage.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
- At least Ten (10) years of experience in aquaculture in the East African region, five (5) of which at senior level

JOB TITLE: PROJECT ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT (TRUEFISH & E€OFISH PROJECT)
QUALIFICATION:

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
- At least three (3) years’ professional experience in a comparable position Practical knowledge of basic public procurement procedures is an added advantage

QUALIFICATION:

- At least three (3) year’s driving experience with a reputable organization

QUALIFICATION:
- A diploma (or academic equivalent) with specialization in accounting, financial management, business administration or a related field. Possession of a university degree and/or professional accounting qualification (CPA, ACCA or equivalent) is an added advantage.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
- A minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in accounting, financial management, business administration, or a related field.
- Experience with international accounting systems and financial operations management is an added advantage.
- Experience with corporate performance management in the public or private sector
