Ubungo Municipal Council is one of the five Municipal Councils located in Dar es Salaam city of Tanzania. The Council’s vision is to have a society that is empowered to conform to social, economic and structural development.
The overall goal is to provide effective service to the community using the resources available, and to build capacity, good governance and respect for sharia governance that will improve the lives of the community, the Council distinguishes itself through accountability and service delivery.
Sources of the Council’s income depends largely on tariffs and taxes, large income income include positions for posters, city utility tariffs, business licenses and the central government are through grants offered in specific areas of health, education, and infrastructure. Revenue sources are not enough to meet the needs of the municipal and best service, the municipal council has set up power to provide better public services and to invest investments.

Where Ubungo available
The Ubungo Municipal Council is bordered by Kibaha District Council on the north, Kinondoni Municipal Council on the southeast and Kisarawe District Council on the west.
The Ubungo Municipal Council is connected to Good Roads and other means of communication in the City of Dar es Salaam and other parts of the country. The main roads linking the Council are Morogoro Road, Mandela Road, and Sam Njoma Road.

The Ubungo Municipal Council has 260.40 kilometers of land, as of the 2012 Census the municipality has a population of 845,368 of which men are 409,149 and 436,219 women but by 2016 population estimates Municipal Council has a total population of 1,031,349 where males are 499,161 and females 532,188.

The Ubungo Municipal Council has a climate of ignoring that the weather is warm and cold throughout the year, the hot season is the third month and the third month and the eight month and eight are cool.
