Call for Applications-Deadline extended to 30th June, 2020

Social Science and the Environment Writing Workshop

UDOM Call for Applications-Deadline extended to 30th June, 2020. Advancing Academic Writing for  Early Career academics in Tanzania Publishing research in internationally recognized academic journals can be hard and frustrating. Its difficulties can seem considerable. And it is absolutely fundamental to any  successful academic career. If you publish in good journals your work becomes known, your career blossoms, your networks grow and it is satisfying and rewarding. If you do not then all of those achievements and rewards are harder to obtain.

The purpose of this writing workshop is to make publishing in academic journals easier, and the process of writing more enjoyable. It will bring together senior researchers from Tanzania and overseas, editors of numerous international journals (virtually and physically) and early career academics. The latter will present their draft papers for peer review by fellow ECRs, senior colleagues and editors.

That process will provide feedback which will improve the chances of publication. It will also have additional benefits including networking opportunities, grant writing advice and learning to give as well as receive critical feedback.
