JOB TITLE: Finance Director
Location: Dar es Salaam, Tanzania

Job Introduction
Adexen was mandated by a multinational corporation to recruit a Finance Director / CFO for its operations. The position is based in Tanzania.
Responsibilities
  • Responsible for overall direction of a large finance department
  • Responsible for the formulation of financial strategies and the coordination of plans, budgets and initiatives
  • Responsible for efficient management of the accounting, taxation and risk, forecasting, cost and revenue management, reporting, treasury, insurance, assets and investments, information technology and systems, internal control functions
  • Responsible for budget and plans realization, update and follow ups
  • Ensure the accuracy, completeness, integrity and reliability of all financial information
  • Select, recruit, train and retain skilled and competent staff with focus on strong succession planning

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance
  • MBA is a plus
  • Minimum of 10 years relevant experience with at least 7 years in a senior managerial position (FM, CFO, FD) within an international group
  • Previous experience in Emerging markets/Africa is a plus
  • Working knowledge: SAP, IFRS/ international accounting and financial reporting standards
  • Communication, Leadership and Relationship skills

JOB TITLE: Country Manager

Location: Dar es Salaam, Tanzania

Adexen was mandated by a leading international Group to recruit a Country Manager for its operations. The position is based in Tanzania.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for overall direction, development and growth of the Company in the Country
  • Responsible for all aspects of the business including Production & Maintenance, strategic planning, internal organization, Human Resources, Logistics and Finance.
  • Implement the strategy and operational plans including production and sales targets adapted to local environment to ensure dominance of the brand in the country and to increase revenue generation for the Group
  • Coordinate day-to-day activities of the Country and provide leadership to direct reports and the entire staff of the Company.
  • Identify improvement opportunities and implement the best practices for all units in the Country
  • Ensure the optimal management of the production and take overall responsibility for all related operations including purchasing and distribution, safety, industrial excellence and technical support, resources (people mobilization/development), customer orientation and logistics as well as production support functions such as engineering and maintenance.
  • Oversee periodic financial and non-financial reports to effectively monitor the activities
  • Develop a customer-oriented culture
  • Implement cost tracking best practices and procurement optimisation process
  • Provide effective leadership and management of all staff
  • Provide regular management information, reports and analysis
  • Ensure compliance with local laws and regulations
  • Liaise with the government and local authorities as well as other stake holders
  • Represent the Group in meetings, conferences, trade fairs, networking events and interface with local authorities

Qualifications

  • Bachelors’ Degree in Engineering, Business Management
  • MBA is required
  • Minimum of 20 years’ experience, with at least 10 years in a managerial role within an international company
  • Previous experience in an industrial environment or FMCG sector
  • Previous experience in Emerging Markets/Africa is a plus
  • Experience in the following domains: process management, product quality, HSE, HR Management, Logistics & Supply Chain
  • Strategic planning and financial management knowledge
  • Strong communication, Leadership, Customer relationship skills
  • Ability to manage a multi-national and cross-cultural team

Adexen was mandated by a leading international Group to recruit an experienced Plant Director for its operations. The position is based in Tanzania.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all activities of the plant and provide leadership to direct reports and the entire staff of the Company.
  • Take overall responsibility for all production related operations including purchasing and distribution, safety, industrial excellence and technical support, human resources (people mobilization/development), customer orientation and logistics as well as production support functions such as mining, engineering and maintenance.
  • To ensure that quality/quantity are met and implementation of all company policies and procedures, in the areas of HSE, Personnel, Training and Financial Management
  • Provide overall strategic leadership, direction and guidance for all Plant operations.
  • Ensure the continuous growth and profitability of the organisation’s business.
  • Demonstrate ownership for the execution of the corporate strategy at the plant level
  • Prepare the annual budgets and prudently monitor and manage the Plants’s resources within the budgetary provision
  • Continually control and monitor plant performance through measurement and analysis through the use of standard tools, benchmarking and pre-defined Group indicators to be used for tracking.
  • Demonstrate ownership for all technical issues in the plants.
  • Optimise and adapt the production process and equipment
  • Oversee the analysis of sales forecast to determine production capacity required to meet forecast.
  • Monitor production performance including cost & volumes of raw materials, energy & fuels, effective utilisation of equipment/machines and ensure alignment with planned production targets, delivery targets, profitability targets and other key performance measures.
  • Oversee the execution of all necessary systems, controls, policies and procedures to ensure a rigorous financial framework
  • Develop a customer oriented culture
  • Human Resources Management and Development: execution of succession plan and training plan, compensation, labour relations and communication

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university in the field of Engineering
  • MBA is a plus.
  • 20 years’ experience, with at least 10 years in managing multiple lines large scale industrial plant
  • Previous experience in Emerging Markets/Africa is a plus
  • Very good understanding of technical problems and industrial strategy in the following domains: Operation and Maintenance, Process Management, Product Quality, Quality/ Environmental, Project Management, Human Resources, Logistics
  • In-depth knowledge of strategic planning and financial management.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and relationship management skills.
